Traveling Art Truck

I made this public art project in collaboration with the Municipal Commission on Arts and Letters of University City, MO, in 2009. This project hearkens back to the tradition of traveling peep shows and, in essence, is a giant tunnel book. My hope was to create a public art project that I could share with many communities and I drove and set up my truck on streets bustling with pedestrians, at schools when students were just getting out, in grocery store parking lots, and at gallery openings. In addition to the carved and painted wooden panels, the installation was illuminated and accompanied by a customized soundtrack of beautiful, beckoning whistling.
