Shown in 2010 at the Des Lee Gallery in St. Louis, Mo, this tent invited viewers to enter into a space of calm, quiet, and heightened sensorial perception. I was interested in daily moments of wonder and beauty and their ability to bring us fully in touch with the everyday magic of the present moment, and I wanted to create a space that emulated this experience and enlivened and renewed its participants. The tent's exterior is silkscreened with gold moths and the illuminated interior ceiling is filled with downward facing feathers. Inside, a subtle soundtrack of breathing and sighing played.
